What is the counselling process like?
I understand that seeking counselling can feel daunting. As a qualified, experienced therapist I am are here to guide you through the process with empathy and understanding. During your initial session, I’ll take the time to get to know you, understand your unique needs, and develop a plan to support your journey towards greater wellbeing.
How do I know if counselling is right for me?
Deciding to seek counselling is a highly personal decision, and I’m here to support you every step of the way. If you’re experiencing any emotional or mental health challenges, whether it’s anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or simply a desire for personal growth, counselling can provide a safe and nurturing space to explore your thoughts and feelings. I will work closely with you to determine the best approach to address your unique needs and concerns.
Is everything I say confidential?
The content of our sessions is confidential but there are a few exceptions. As a registered therapist I review my client work with a supervisor to ensure I am working ethically and effectively. All clients are anonymised in this process. If I felt concern for your wellbeing or that of another person I may need to contact appropriate authorities but whenever possible I would discuss this with the client first.
How long will the counselling last?
The sessions last for an hour. The number of sessions you have is a very individual thing, Some people feel a benefit after just a few weeks, others require longer term contact. We can explore this together at our first session and review regularly to ensure that your needs are being met.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require 24 hours notice if you need to rearrange or cancel an appointment, otherwise the full session fee will be charged.
Do you work online?
I have received training to work online. We can also work in a hybrid way.
